Sir,
I have the honour to forward in
duplicate a letter signed by six of the Masters at Queen's
College.
2.
I need not remind you that prior to
Dr. G. H. Bateson Wright's retirement which took place in
1909, Queen's College on the one hand, and the other Govern-
-ment and Grant Schools of the Colony on the other, cons-
-tituted two distinct Departments and that it has been the
declared policy of the Government since 1902 that the
fusion effected in 1909 should take place on Dr. Wright's
retirement.

In 1902 Mr. James was appointed to
Kowloon British School. In 1910 when economies were under
consideration it was decided that the school could do with-
-out a Headmaster. Mr. James was thereupon transferred to
Yaumati School; and at the end of the same year, upon a
